The machine concept: The Weima high-performance shredder, with its flexible application possibilities, can process all types of wood-based materials (hardwood, softwood, chipboard, MDF materials, plywood, veneer remnants, etc.) into wood chips, achieving an enormous volume reduction of the material, especially with bulky materials. Function: The machine is equipped with a large feed hopper and can be fed via a conveyor belt or by hand. This hopper can be adapted to individual needs and guarantees a continuous and cost-effective material feed without requiring manual assistance. A hydraulically controlled slide feeds the wood waste to be shredded to the cutting area of the rotor and is automatically controlled in a load-dependent manner. The internal slide guides are made of highly abrasion-resistant plastic (polyamide) and can be adjusted. The hydraulic cylinders are mounted on cardan joints to minimize transverse forces on the piston seals. The patented and profiled V-rotor, made of solid steel, has a diameter of 252 mm and operates with a rotor speed of 80 - 120 rpm. The concave-ground, aggressive, and 4-way rotatable knives/cutting tips are located in recessed knife pockets on special knife carriers. This patented system guarantees high throughput, low energy consumption, and optimal discharge of the shredded material by reducing the cutting gap between the counter knife and the rotor for the first time. Power transmission from the electric motors is via V-belts to a heavily dimensioned gearbox, which is mounted on the rotor shaft stub on one side of the rotor.
