The machine was used exclusively for rounding the cutting edges of carbide drills and milling cutters.
The machining area of the machine consists of a work container, which, depending on the desired abrasiveness of the machining process, is filled with a grinding or polishing medium. The workpieces are attached to holders, lowered into the work container, and moved through the medium via a planetary gear. The friction between the workpiece and the medium results in effective machining in the micrometer range, so that subsequent coating has a significantly higher adhesion.
