The LS 1000 was developed as a universal machine for construction machinery, wind turbine and machine tool gearboxes, mining technology, aerospace and textile machines, and is suitable for both single parts, small series and large series. The main application is the hobbing of straight-toothed and – with a helical guide and matching cutting wheel – helical-toothed spur gears with internal or external teeth. With software options, the machine can also process non-circular gears, grooves and cams; with special cutters, couplings as well as involute and spur gears are produced. The Sinumerik ONE with electronic gear unit guides the user through workpiece and tool data using masks, without the need for programming.
