Nitrogen inerting with residual oxygen monitoring
With nitrogen inerting, the test chamber is first purged with a large flow rate of N2 until the
o2 content drops below 3%. Then, it switches to a base flow amount (approx. 10% of the large flow rate).
The nitrogen flow for the base amount is measured and displayed using a flowmeter and monitored via a limit switch.
O2 monitoring continuously extracts gas from the test chamber via a flame arrestor and passes it over an O2 sensor which checks the residual oxygen content of the extracted air.
Afterwards, the gas is returned to the test chamber via a second flame arrestor.
The extraction pump is monitored by a volumetric flow meter. Additional details can be found in the Dräger user manual in the appendix.
The gas system is currently deactivated!
All technical data refer to an ambient temperature of +25°C, nominal voltage 400V, without test specimen, without irradiation, and without additional equipment.
