Nitrogen inerting with residual oxygen monitoring
With nitrogen inerting, the test chamber is initially purged with a large volume of N2 until the
oxygen content is less than 3%. After that, it switches to a base flow rate (approx. 10% of the large volume).
The nitrogen flow rate of the base flow is measured, displayed, and monitored using a flow meter and limit switch.
The O2 monitoring continuously extracts gas from the test chamber via a flame arrester and feeds it to an O2 sensor, which monitors the residual oxygen content of the extracted air.
The gas is then passed through a second flame arrester and returned to the test chamber. The extraction pump is monitored using a volume flow meter. Further details can be found in the operating manual from Dräger in the appendix.
 
The gas system is currently out of operation!
